As Lynn and I start our trek to find 70-degree weather we ended our first day at one of our favorite places, Myrtle Beach State Park. We did not find 70-degree weather or even 60-degree weather. But we did find the park to be almost empty with the exception of a few brave souls roughing out the winter there. Site 192 there holds a special place in our hearts as it was our Border Collie Jake’s favorite place on earth and we spent a lot of summer days in this site when it was available. Dinner last night was at Bennett’s Seafood where we celebrated my birthday with all we could dare to eat crab legs. The peacefulness or the overstuffed bellies were responsible for a great night’s sleep and a late start to our day today.
We woke up this morning and continued our trek for 70-degree weather, again not finding it… but we did find that right before we pulled off I-95 in Brunswick to eat at and sleep at their Cracker Barrel the temperature reading on the dash changed over to 60! Yeah! We are hunkered down here at CB with the sound of traffic from I-95 lulling us off to sleep. Not as perfect as last night but $28 cheaper and just walking distance from coffee and breakfast and a bathroom if needed. All in all a great start to this trek south. Tomorrow??? Jekyll Island for who knows how long. 🙂. Sweet dreams…. zzzz
